About us

EUTOPIAFILM was founded in 2021 by Bernhard Holzhammer and Victor Kössl in Innsbruck, Austria. In the twelve years before, we were able to gain valuable experience in film production with Wildruf Film which we started in 2008 together with Lucas Riccabona: From classic commercials to social awareness films, which have always been especially close to our hearts. Reason enough to specify our focus: With EUTOPIAFILM we want to make our contribution to social change and focus on the production of documentaries, feature films and series with ecological and social topics.

The EUTOPIAFILM team consists of experts from all areas of production. The concepts and scripts often originate from our own pens – but are also brought to us by other authors or co-production partners. If an idea convinces us, we fight for it. And do everything in our power to make the realization possible – from development and financing to filming, post-production and distribution.

With FISAplus, the filming and post-production of international films and series in the areas of cinema, TV, and streaming are supported as part of service productions.

This involves a direct grant of 30% of all expenses in Austria, plus a 5% bonus for green filming. The maximum funding per film is 5 mil. € and 7.5 mil. € per series.

Minimal spendings in Austria:
Fiction: 150.000 €
Documentary: 80.000 €
Animation, VFX, music, postproduction: 25.000 €
Applicants: independent Austrian production companies

Austria, and Tyrol in particular, boasts unique and world-famous natural and mountain landscapes. Vienna, Innsbruck, Salzburg and other cities have unique backdrops that can only be found in Austria. And even more importantly, Austria is home to a large number of talented and highly professional film workers.

From camera and lighting assistants to sound people, composers, set designers, make-up, editing (assistance), VFX and SFX, color grading, sound mixing and much more. Recently, several state-of-the-art studios, soundstages and post-production facilities in the west of Austria have been added, with which (and their teams) we maintain excellent contacts.

We take care of the submission of potential funding and the coordination of the teams and shooting locations. Simply contact us with the basic details of your project.

Even though our projects regularly take us far away, we always like to come back home – without being overly patriotic. Whether we were born in Tyrol or not – we couldn’t care less – many of us have our center of life here. That is why we have chosen Innsbruck as our home base. The production conditions are ideal: In addition to the central alpine location with unique natural backdrops and good transport connections, an increasingly rich network of film professionals and friends who master the daily production madness with us, has developed over the last two decades.

Our office is located in the middle of the green Wilhelminian quarter of Innsbruck in the rooms of the former and venerable restaurant Rosengarten. Good omen: Already a 100 years ago, the Saggen wine and beer hall was used for intensive intercultural exchange. In the converted vaulted cellar below, editing and color grading can be carried out undisturbed in the specially equipped studio. The perfect place for concentrated work on EUTOPIAN projects. Maybe on yours too?
